Muslim Polygamy
Germany’s Muslim Polygamy Epidemic!
I was honoured to give a speech “Child Brides, Lost Boys and the Harms of Polygamy” to over 250 people at the Education Auditorium at the U of A for the Edmonton Life Long Learning Association last week.  A technical problem delayed my speech somewhat so I did not get to touch on Muslim Polygamy in Canada.  Nor the fact that the riots in France in 2010 and in England 2012 were largely due to large groups of fatherless youth caught in a never-ending cycle of poverty due to Muslim polygamy.  The following video news clip is about the Muslim...
Women gather for the first time to discuss polygamy in Tanzania
Dr. Shoshanna Grossbard testified at the Canadian Polygamy Reference trial in 2010.  She gave her research on the effects of polygamy on women–no matter what race, what culture, the harms to women and children are the same.  International Women’s Day 2013 saw women from marginalized communities in Tanzania gather for the first time to discuss their personal experiences with polygamy.  Now that these women have spoken publicly, it will not be the last time.  They are pioneers who have broken ground.  Stop Polygamy in Canada Society sends its most heartfelt congratulations!  NM http://www.dailynews.co.tz/index.php/local-news/15361-polygamy-turns-junior-wives-into-slaves...
Letter of Support for our new Ally in Utah
(Kristyn Decker, author of Fifty Years in Polygamy  and others have formed a coalition called Sound Choices Coalition to counter-act the growing movement in Utah to decriminalize polygamy.  She has asked for letters from Canada.  Following is our letter of support and information about what is happening in Canada. NM) Dear Newly-Formed Sound Choices Coalition (SCC): It is an honor to be asked to submit a letter on behalf of Stop Polygamy in Canada Society (SPCS).  As the leader of this campaign in Canada, I have been in awe of the rapidity with which SCC has formed and the contributors...

Dear All,  I list books, etc., as I read them.  I have several more to list here as soon as I have read them.  I have also reviewed many of them for the blog.  I’m posting this, because it did not transfer from our old site www.stoppolygamyincanada.wordpress.com; and, I’ve had inquiries.  NM Books, International Conventions and Laws Recommended by Stop Polygamy in Canada Society   No Man Knows My History: the life of Joseph Smith by Fawn M. “Polygamy is illegal in Canada.”
Dear Premier Christy Clark; BCAG Shirley Bond; Premier Dalton McGuinty; Federal AG Rob Nicholson; Public Safety Minister Vic Toews; Status of Women Minister Rona Ambrose; and, respective opposition critics and MLAs: Re:  Polygamous Saudi immigrants not welcome—Jason Kenny’s office announces  http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2012/10/15/20283706.html  Immigration Minister Jason Kenney’s spokesperson, Alexis Pavlich, is quoted in the above article as saying, “Polygamy is illegal in Canada.  It is contrary to Canadian values and has no place in our country.” We have our Federal officials verbally upholding the polygamy law in Canada; and, our Provincial officials delaying the process of laying charges on the KNOWN POLYGAMISTS...
Saudi Arabian Polygamists Seek Canadian Home–Toronto Sun
IF OUR AUTHORITIES WOULD LAY CHARGES AGAINST THE KNOWN POLYGAMISTS OF CANADA , THIS “PROBLEM” WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!  IF WE SHOWED THE WORLD THAT WE MEAN IT WHEN WE SAY POLYGAMY IS A CRIME IN CANADA, THEN NO POLYGAMISTS WOULD BE SEEKING PERMISSION TO LIVE HERE OR USING OTHER DEVIOUS WAYS TO SNEAK INTO OUR COUNTRY!  I CALL ON EVERYONE WHO READS THIS TO WRITE TO ATTORNEY GENERAL ROB NICHOLSON AND TO PREMIERS CHRISTY CLARK AND DALTON MCGUINTY IMPLORING THEM TO LAY CHARGES AGAINST THE KNOWN FUNDAMENTALIST MORMON AND MUSLIM POLYGAMISTS WHO ARE MAKING A MOCKERY OF OUR CIVIL LAW...

Who says you have to be attached to a man to get into heaven?
Sometimes Muslim and Mormon Doctrine are too much alike.  “Jannah” in the Muslim world means a woman can only enter “Paradise” through her husband.  “Celestial marriage” in the Mormon world means a woman can only get to the celestial kingdom (“paradise”) through her husband.  Then both Muslim and Mormon women must be one of many, many wives.  Disgusting! http://www.onislam.net/english/news/asia-pacific/457930-polygamy-advice-enrages-australia-muslims.html...
Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is 30
Canadians have been asked to weigh in on the conversation re the 30th anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, April 17, 2012. There is an ad with a young woman extolling sec. 15 of the Charter guaranteeing women’s equality rights with men in Canada. Those are very pretty words on paper, BUT the truth of the matter is that women still receive less pay for work of equal value in Canada.  And, women are still forced into patriarchal harems in Canada. I am curious to know how informed the young woman in this ad is regarding a...

Mohammad Shafia, front left, his wife Tooba Mahommad Yahya, front right, and their son Hamed Shafia, back, arrive in Frontenac County Court in Kingston. (QMI AGENCY) (Note:  fear and intimidation keep many, many people from coming forward to testify.  Stop Polygamy in Canada Society congratulates Latif Hyderi for his strength and courage.  We are sorry he is suffering shunning from his own community.  He has made a magnificent contribution to Canadian society!) Canadian Ruling

In his long-awaited decision, Canadian Chief Justice Bauman wrote that “the harms associated with the practice are endemic; they are inherent,” and that the harms found in polygynous societies “are not simply the product of individual misconduct; they arise inevitably out of the practice.” He further stated, “there is no such thing as so-called “good polygamy.”  He got it right, time to celebrate, congratulations Canada!
